Researchers in the United States say women who drink a lot of
coffee in the early months of pregnancy are twice as likely to have
a miscarriage. The scientist who led the research said he would now
advise pregnant women to avoid caffeine.
“The study of a thousand pregnant women in California found those
who drunk at least two cups of coffee a day faced a 25 percent risk
of miscarriage compared with the 12 percent risk among the women
who weren’t consuming any caffeine. The researches found similar
results from other products containing caffeine, such as tea and
fizzy drinks(充气饮料).Caffeine pulses to the fetus(胚胎) through the
placenta(胎盘) and experts believe it could affect the development of
cells.”
